Evo: Genesis- Animals and Genes

The Evos live in such an animalist world! Birds, deer, bunnies, fish, and other natural species gather in their respective habitats. Although, there are also many supernatural beings as well! Ice monsters, Ghosts, and other creatures- who also have a corresponding environment- are widely encountered by the Evos! All together, these animals present themselves both as food and threats to your survival.

But no fear! The Evos are such a special species! They have such adaptive abilities that they can mimic  their genes based on charateristics of many animals. For example, Evos can mimic the bunny's agility in the gene "Speed", or bird's flight in the gene... "Flight". But some genes are available through other methods. I don't want to give too much away, but some genes appear when Evos go through physical hardships. Imagine what an Evo might need to experience before it develops the gene "Coat".

Just like any other animal, Evos cannot simply change their biology at will. Any new gene aquired by the species is stored in their Genepool. When two Evos mate, their children have the potential to bring out the genes their parents might have needed in their experiences. There are many genes the Evos can obtain that give a wide variety of abilities, protections, and efficiencies. What might your species become?
